About the Artist

A graduate of Cooper Union School of Art, N.Y., Mildred Hado has studied with Robert Gwathmay, Hans Miller and Edwin Dickinson, at the Art Student's League, Parson's School of Design and recently at Pratt Graphics Center, New York. Her past experience in the animated commercial and film industry has developed a sharp sense of design and the power to communicate strongly yet simply. Hado's glazed, acrylic paintings use translucent, richly textured surfaces and abstract forms to comment, sometimes satirically, on today's capricious society.

Her work is represented in private and public collections and is currently on view at the DeVries Fine Art Gallery in Lenox, Massachusetts.
